About Our Founder
Dr. Mary Mejia graduated as an MD in 1983 from the National University of San Marcos in Peru. Realizing that public health was needed to improve the health of the people suffering from diseases for years, she practiced medicine in the Peruvian Andes and in Lima for 15 years.
She then graduated as an MPH with a minor in Environmental Health in 2003 from the City University of New York. She worked during the last 15 years in New York City, providing health education for people with chronic diseases and doing medical research.
In 2012, she rediscovered Inka Traditional Medicine from the land of her ancestors. She founded Inka Traditional Medicine in 2014 to continue helping those in need of medical advice and learning of this ancient medicine.

“Cesar is a taxi driver, who works overnight in NYC throughout the year, and he was suffering from Asthma, as a reaction to the freezing weather of the Winter season, and he came to us, and, received food and nutrition counselling and herb therapy, and got better, with no relapses. He told us that he needs to support his family, and to work without taking days off, so he is fulfilling that need, and feels happy about himself now.”
“Tony works in the Emergency Department of a good hospital, but he got a stomach bug after a day of work, he called us to say that have abdominal pain, cramps. nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue and we recommended him to keep hydrated, and to eat small portions of soft food, and a tea, and if he did not get better in a few hours to go to the ER, but he got better, and gave us his testimony, sometimes, timing and appropriate measures are important.”
